CRISTINA VERGANO

Cristina Vergano is an Italian-American visual artist known for paintings that blend classical imagery with fantastical and surrealistic content. Working primarily in oil on wood panel, canvas, or found objects, Vergano constructs dreamlike compositions rich with symbolism and otherworldly characters.

Born in Milan, Vergano studied at the Università di Genova before establishing her studio in New York. Her work has been showcased in major institutions, including the Parrish Art Museum and the Chicago Athenaeum, and featured in ARTnews, Art in America, The New York Times, and Blouin Art+Auction’s "50 Women Artists Worth Watching" alongside Louise Bourgeois and Agnes Martin.

Vergano's paintings are held in distinguished collections internationally, including the private collections of Whoopi Goldberg, Robert and Cortney Novogratz, and Madonna.
